BURBANK

Location

Located at the Eastern edge of the San Fernando Valley, Burbank is made up of two distinct areas.  The Downtown and Civic Center are nestled against the Verdugo Mountains, and the flat lands of the San Fernando Valley are to the west.  Boarding neighborhoods consist of Glendale, North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Sunvalley and Griffith Park.

About Burbank

Known as the “Media Capital of the World,” Burbank is home to The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Entertainment and NBC.  With a rich aviation history, Burbank naturally has its own airport, Bob Hope Airport – a convenient alternative to LAX.

Castaways restaurant, nicknamed “The Jewel on the Hill” is the place for AMAZING views of the valley.  Enter a time warp when you visit the retro shops of Magnolia Park and find block after block of retro boutiques.  And don’t forget famous Porto’s Bakery & Café. The equestrian center at the edge of Griffith Park offers many horse stable options where you can rent a horse, take riding lessons or board your own horse.

Bit of History

Burbank was originally settled in the 1870s - 1880s.  By the 1930s larger companies like Lockheed and Northrop as well as studios like First National Studios, created a population serge resulting in much of the housing stock to be built in the 30’s and 40’s.
